Learning Zone: 5W1H Learning Technique for Disadvantaged Learners

C lassrooms wi ll work well if students possess the substantive academic prerequisites and the extent to which their minds are open to learning, that is to say, the extent to which their minds have the "sponge" quality or not. That invariably means that learners will learn if input becomes part of their consciousness. Quite apart from individual student profiles which can be and are usually quite diverse, I will tell you what has worked for me. I don't subscribe to the view that teachers should primarily be environmental facilitators rather than lecturers. I'm in favour of the teacher as the primary driver who is engaged in the prising open of student minds so that at the end of the lesson, individual students will be able to retain for life what the curriculum stipulates students should retain in their minds. I'm a believer in education for life meaning whatever techniques students learn in school, they are expected to use whatever they have learned in the school...
